The most important thing in life is spending time with friends and family. Unfortunately, nowadays we spend so much time at work, managing crises, and recuperating from it all, that by the end of the week we don’t have energy to do the things we love before the cycle starts all over again.
All of my policies are systematic solutions to the biggest problems that we face today: affordability, public school funding, healthcare costs, and protecting our environment while creating a strong economy in Minnesota.
Here are some of the key issues that I will advance in the state legislature:
Strong Schools
The first thing I would do is advocate for state grants to fund school repairs, because our kids need a safe environment to explore and learn. By sending a strong Representative like me to St. Paul, we can ensure our district acquires these necessary funds.
The quality of our kids’ education should not be determined by where we live, or how much money we make. We have a moral obligation to provide all of our kids the opportunity for success.
Affordable Healthcare
I will be a strong advocate to demand affordable healthcare for everyone. By working across the aisle, we can reduce monthly costs, eliminate co-pays, and eliminate per-visit fees for care. These changes will drastically reduce the cost of healthcare while improving health outcomes.
The Minnesota Health Plan is a single-payer system that would improve healthcare access and quality without raising your taxes. It’s a no-brainer.
Local Economy
Our economy is disproportionately controlled by billionaires and multinational corporations. As a result, local businesses and farms are squeezed out and workers’ rights are violated.
Right now, Minnesota has $160 billion managed by investment companies like BlackRock. That means our tax dollars are supporting big tech, oil companies, and other monopolies. I will drive permanent economic growth by authoring legislation to incentivize State investments in Minnesota-based companies. These investments will drive innovation, create new long-term jobs and protect Minnesota from negative global trends.
I’m running for State Representative to ensure everybody has the opportunity to earn a living wage, achieve their dreams, and retire with dignity.
Workers’ Rights
The marks of a good economy are healthy families and strong workers’ rights. I will advocate to preserve Minnesota’s Paid Family Medical Leave program, and support strong union organizing.
I will always prioritize listening to the people who are affected by legislation, not corporate donors and their interests.
Healthy Environment
The woods, waters, and outdoor recreation are at the heart of our district. They are also the key to a healthy mind, body, and spirit. I will fully fund our pollution control and natural resource management agencies to protect the life-giving resources in Chisago County and across the beautiful State of Minnesota.
